How to update Tax Identification Number (TIN) through Customer Portal
Introduction
The Tax Identification Number (TIN) is essential for ensuring compliance with tax regulations, required for issuing e-invoices, and crucial for businesses to qualify for tax deductions on expenses and the cost of goods sold. Individuals and entities must obtain a TIN to meet tax obligations, and we’ve enhanced our customer portal to make updating your Tax Identification Number easy.
Prerequisite:
- Have the Tax Identification Number ready which can be verified through My Tax Portal.
- Before updating your tax information, please ensure there are no pending proforma invoices. If any are detected, our portal will display the message “Changes Not Allowed – Proforma Invoice Detected.” This safeguard helps maintain consistency between the invoice and any changes made to your account profile.
After checking there is no pending invoice, you may refer to this guide to help you update the E-invoice information details.
1. Login to IP ServerOne Customer Portal.
2. After login, an E-Invoice Information Reminder box will appear. Click Update Profile to modify your e-invoice details.
3. In the My Account section, scroll down to the E-Invoice Information section and click the pencil icon to edit the details.
4. Update the following information:
- Tax Identification Number (TIN): This can be checked from My Tax Portal. Ensure no space.
- Name of person In Charge & E-mail Address: It is recommended that a finance team member (Account Payable) be assigned to manage this E-Invoice information, as they will receive notifications from LHDN.
- Malaysia Standard Industry Code (MSIC) (If applicable): Click the magnifying glass symbol to search for the relevant Industry Code based on your company’s industry.
5. After making the necessary changes, click the tick icon to save.

Our enhanced customer portal makes this process simple and efficient. By following the outlined steps, you can easily update your e-invoice details and keep your tax information up to date.
