🔄 Transferring Cloud Hosting to a Different Domain
Can I transfer my cloud hosting domain to a different domain?
Yes, you can transfer your cloud hosting service to a different domain name! However, the process does not automatically “transfer” the hosting itself but rather involves updating the domain associated with your cloud hosting plan.
Here’s how you can proceed:
1. Update DNS Settings:
- Point the new domain’s DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, etc.) to your cloud server’s IP address using your DNS provider or via IP ServerOne’s DNS management if you are using our DNS service.
2. Update Web Server Configuration:
- Update your cloud hosting’s web server settings (e.g., Apache or NGINX) to recognize and serve the new domain.
3. SSL Certificate Installation:
- If your original domain had an SSL certificate, you will need to install a new SSL certificate for the new domain.
4. Application & CMS Update:
- Update your application or CMS (e.g., WordPress, Joomla) settings to use the new domain name to ensure correct URL routing.
5. Check Email Settings:
- If you are also using email services, ensure that MX and SPF/DKIM/DMARC records are updated for the new domain.

⚠️ Important Note: The domain registration itself must be managed through your domain registrar. This process only applies to pointing your new domain to an existing cloud hosting service.
