Scaling Capabilities of Nova Cloud Services
Does Nova Cloud Services Support Vertical and Horizontal Scaling?
Our Nova Cloud Services, which is built on OpenStack’s compute service, primarily supports horizontal scaling. This means you can easily scale out by adding more instances (virtual machines) to distribute workloads, increase capacity, and ensure high availability.
At the same time, vertical scaling (scaling up by increasing CPU, RAM, etc. on existing instances) is also supported but is generally used in specific scenarios, such as when you need to temporarily boost the performance of an instance without launching new ones.
Summary:
- ✅ Horizontal Scaling: Fully supported and recommended for cloud-native, scalable architectures.
- ✅ Vertical Scaling: Supported but used more selectively.
