Transfer Ownership of DNS
DNS ownership transfer is closely tied to domain ownership and follows an automated process. Below are the key details you need to know:
1. Cloud Points Requirement:
- Our DNS hosting operates on a Cloud points-based system.
- Before registering or becoming the new owner of DNS hosting, it is highly recommended to ensure that the receiving account has sufficient Cloud points.
2. Automatic Transfer with Domain Ownership Change:
- DNS ownership automatically transfers along with domain ownership.
- Example: If Account A transfers domain ownership of abc.com to Account B, and abc.com has Standard DNS hosting, then:
- Once Account B accepts the domain ownership, the Standard DNS hosting will also be transferred automatically.
- However, Account B must have at least 50 Cloud points for the transfer to complete.
- If Account B does not have sufficient Cloud points, Account A will not be able to proceed with the ownership transfer request.
3. Keeping Domain & DNS Hosting in the Same Account:
- We strongly recommend keeping both domain and DNS hosting under the same account.
- Separating them may lead to issues in determining the authorized owner and could cause disruptions to your service.
