Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Log in to DirectAdmin

  1. Access your DirectAdmin login page.
  2. Enter your credentials and click Login. If you’re login to DirectAdmin using username “admin”, please refer here to navigate to User Level.

Step 2: Search for the FTP Account Option

  • In the DirectAdmin control panel, locate and search for the FTP Accounts option.

 

Step 3: Click on “Create FTP Account”

  • Click on the Create FTP Account button to begin setting up a new FTP account.

Step 4: Insert FTP username and password

  • Enter the desired FTP username.
  • Choose a strong password or use the password generator provided by DirectAdmin (by clicking on the eye icon).
  • Confirm the password.
  • Choose the appropriate FTP user account type based on the access level you want to provide.
    • Domain: This FTP user has access to public_html, private_html, mail, domains, and backup directories.
    • FTP: This FTP user has access to the public_ftp directory only.
    • User: This FTP user has access to public_html/username/ only.
    • Custom: The Administrator able to manually setup the path for this FTP user
  • Click on the Create button to finalize the setup.

 

Step 5: Confirm FTP Account Creation

  • Your FTP account will now be created and appear on the FTP management list.
