Prerequisites

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Accessing your instances
- Log in to your Customer Portal account.
- Navigate to the navigation bar on the left side and click on the ‘NovaCloud’ menu.
- From the dropdown options, select ‘Instances’ to view your current instances.
Step 2: Identifying the instance
- In the ‘Instances’ section, scroll through the list to locate the instance you wish to reboot.
- Verify the instance details, such as its name or IP address, to ensure you are selecting the correct one.
Step 3: Initiating the reboot
- Next to the instance you have selected, locate the ‘Actions’ button and click on it to display a list of available actions.
- From the dropdown menu, select ‘Reboot’. This will open a confirmation window for the reboot action.
Step 4: Choose the reboot type
- In the action window, you will see two reboot options, ‘Soft Reboot’ and ‘Hard Reboot’:
- Soft Reboot: A graceful restart, similar to a regular operating system reboot. Use this option for standard maintenance or updates.
- Hard Reboot: A forceful restart that stimulates the power being abruptly turned off and back on. Select this option if the instance is unresponsive or experiencing critical issues.
- Choose the appropriate reboot option based on your requirements.
- A pop-up window will appear once the reboot is initiated. Click ‘Okay’ to close the windows. You may then wait for the instance to comple the reboot process.
- After the reboot process is completed, the instance’s status will change from ‘Rebooting’ to ‘Active’.
