Step 1: Launch the file-level restore wizard

  • Option 1: Navigate to the Home tab, select Restore > Agent > Guest files restore > Microsoft Windows. This path allows you to select a Veeam Agent computer for file and folder restoration during the Machine step of the wizard.
  • Option 2: Go to the Home view, click on the Backups node in the inventory pane. In the working area, expand the desired Veeam Agent backup, select the targeted computer, and click Guest Files (Windows) on the ribbon.  Alternatively, right-click the computer and select Restore guest files > Microsoft Windows. This method takes you directly to the Restore Point step of the wizard.

 

Step 2: Select machine

  • In the Machine step, select the backup source for data recovery.
  • Use the search field at the bottom to quickly locate a specific backup. Enter the name or a part of the Veeam Agent computer’s name. Click Start search or press Enter to begin the search.

 

Step 3: Select restore point

  • In the Restore Point step, choose a restore point for data recovery.
  • By default, the system selects the most recent restore point. However, you can select any valid restore point as needed.

 

Step 4: Specify restore reason

  • In the Reason step, provide a brief explanation for the data restoration.
  • Tip: To skip this step in future processes, select the Do not show me this page again checkbox.

 

Step 5: Verify restore settings

  • In the Summary step, review the restore task. Click Browse to exit the wizard and launch the Veeam Backup browser.

 

Step 6: Finalize restore

  • After closing the wizard, Veeam Backup & Replication will launch the Veeam Backup browser. The browser will display the file system tree of the restored Veeam Agent computer.
